National Nonferrous Metals Production in January–February 2023

In January–February 2023, China’s output of ten major nonferrous metals totaled 11.92 million tonnes, up 9.8% year on year. Specifically, primary aluminum production reached 6.74 million tonnes, a 7.5% increase; alumina output stood at 12.99 million tonnes, up 10.4%; refined copper production accumulated to 1.95 million tonnes, up 10.6%; lead production amounted to 1.37 million tonnes, a 18.2% year-on-year rise; and zinc production totaled 1.07 million tonnes, up 0.7%.
In January–February, national aluminum production totaled 8.719 million tonnes, down 1.9% year on year, while copper production reached 3.112 million tonnes, up 4.3% year on year.
