From January to March 2023, the national output of ten major nonferrous metals reached 6.28 million tonnes, up 6.9% year on year. Over the same period, total production of these metals totaled 18.26 million tonnes, an increase of 9.0% compared with the previous year. During January–March, primary aluminum (electrolytic aluminum) output stood at 10.102 million tonnes, up 5.9% year on year; alumina production reached 19.784 million tonnes, a 6.3% year-on-year rise; refined copper (electrolytic copper) amounted to 2.990 million tonnes, up 10.4%; lead production was 2.165 million tonnes, up 16.2%; and zinc production totaled 1.748 million tonnes, up 5.4%. In the first quarter, copper‑product output reached 5.205 million tonnes, up 7.8% year on year, while aluminum‑product output came in at 14.323 million tonnes, a 2.9% year-on-year increase.
