From January to August, the national output of ten major nonferrous metals increased by 6.8% year on year.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in August, the output of ten major nonferrous metals reached 6.293 million tonnes, up 6.1% year on year. From January to August, cumulative production totaled 48.56 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%.
Among them, in August, primary aluminum (electrolytic aluminum) production totaled 3.602 million tonnes, up 3.1% year on year; from January to August, electrolytic aluminum output reached 27.23 million tonnes, with a cumulative year-on-year increase of 2.9%.
In August, refined copper (electrolytic copper) production totaled 1.117 million tonnes, up 16.4% year on year; from January to August, cumulative output reached 8.408 million tonnes, a 13.3% increase compared with the same period last year.
In August, lead production totaled 619,000 tonnes, up 5.5% year on year; from January to August, cumulative output reached 5.069 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%.
In August, zinc production totaled 545,000 tonnes, up 5.2% year on year; from January to August, cumulative output reached 4.538 million tonnes, a 7.1% increase compared with the same period last year.
In August, copper production totaled 1.866 million tonnes, down 0.5% year on year; from January to August, cumulative output reached 14.475 million tonnes, up 6.1% year on year.
In August, aluminum production totaled 5.483 million tonnes, up 6.6% year on year; from January to August, cumulative output reached 40.892 million tonnes, a 4.3% increase compared with the same period last year.
In August, alumina production totaled 7.08 million tonnes, down 0.8% year on year; from January to August, cumulative output reached 54.537 million tonnes, up 0.6% year on year.
