China has imposed a comprehensive ban on imports of mineral products from North Korea, including lead, coal, and iron ore.

The Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs recently issued a joint announcement stating that, in order to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution No. …, 2371 Resolution: In accordance with the Foreign Trade Law of the People’s Republic of China, the following administrative measures are hereby adopted with respect to certain products involved in import and export trade with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea:
I. Effective from the date of this announcement, the import of coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore, and aquatic products from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is hereby prohibited in all cases. Goods listed above that had already arrived at Chinese ports prior to the effective date of this announcement may be released. II.
