Operating Performance of the Nonferrous Metals Industry from January to November

Among them, copper production 76.8 Ten thousand tons, an increase of 7.6% ; Electrolytic aluminum production 282 Ten thousand tons, an increase of 19.2% ; Lead production 48.4 Ten thousand tons, an increase of 18.3% ; Zinc production 52 Ten thousand tons, down year-on-year 7.0% . Alumina production: 6 22.3 Ten thousand tons, an increase of 25.7% . Copper Material 156.3 Ten thousand tons, up year-on-year 9.4% ; aluminum material 410.6 Ten thousand tons, up year-on-year 7.4% 。
From January to November, China’s output of ten major nonferrous metals totaled 50.43 million tonnes, up 6.1% year on year. Specifically, copper production reached 8.17 million tonnes, an increase of 10.7%; electrolytic aluminum output stood at 31.448 million tonnes, up 7.5%; lead production amounted to 4.45 million tonnes, up 6.5%; and zinc production was 5.177 million tonnes, down 3.3% compared with the same period last year. Alumina production totaled 66.278 million tonnes, up 9.1%. Copper‑based products reached 15.611 million tonnes, a year-on-year rise of 14.6%, while aluminum‑based products came in at 41.087 million tonnes, up 0.2%.
Compared with the end of last month, futures prices for copper, electrolytic aluminum, and zinc declined, while lead prices rose. In November, the average prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange for the near-month contracts were RMB 49,644 per tonne for copper, RMB 13,998 per tonne for electrolytic aluminum, and RMB 22,096 per tonne for zinc—down 1.1%, 2.9%, and 2.9%, respectively, from the previous month, and down 9.1%, 13.1%, and 14.9% year on year. The average price of lead was RMB 18,616 per tonne, up 0.4% from the previous month but down 5.5% year on year.
From January to November, the national nonferrous metal mining and beneficiation industry recorded main business revenue of RMB 316.35 billion, up 2.9% year on year, and total profits of RMB 37.63 billion, up 5.5% year on year. Meanwhile, the national nonferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry reported main business revenue of RMB 4,541.8 billion, an increase of 8.6% year on year, but its total profits amounted to RMB 117.73 billion, down 16.9% compared with the same period last year.
In November, China’s imports of unwrought copper and copper products totaled 456,000 tonnes, up 8.6% month-on-month but down 3% year-on-year. From January to November, cumulative imports of unwrought copper and copper products reached 4.869 million tonnes, a 14.9% increase compared with the same period last year. China’s imports of copper ores and concentrates in November amounted to 1.699 million tonnes, while from January to November, these imports totaled 18.254 million tonnes. In November, China’s exports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products stood at 536,000 tonnes, with cumulative exports for the first eleven months reaching 5.270 million tonnes.
