The Henan Nonferrous Metals Association convened a symposium on the “Research Report on High-Quality Development of Aluminum Processing.”

On the morning of October 12, the Provincial Nonferrous Metals Association convened a symposium on the “Research Report on High-Quality Development of Aluminum Processing in Henan Province.” Chen Weizhong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Chen Zhengyu, a researcher from the Raw Materials Division, attended the meeting. Experts from the Luoyang Nonferrous Metals Processing Design Institute, the Henan Academy of Social Sciences, Zhengzhou University, the Precision Copper Tube Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yidian Holding Group, Yulian Energy Group, Mingtai Aluminum, the Aluminum Research Institute of Chinalco in Zhengzhou, Guangdong Xingfa’s Henan branch, and Henan Junmei Aluminum gathered to engage in lively discussions on the report’s contents and the development of Henan’s aluminum industry. The meeting was chaired by Liu Libin, Executive Vice President of the Association, while Zhang Chuanhe, the Association’s Chief Engineer, provided an interpretation of the report.
Henan’s aluminum industry has entered a critical phase of transformation and upgrading. Recently, Governor Chen Run’er visited Gongyi City to assess the progress of the aluminum sector’s transformation and held a symposium, emphasizing the need to thoroughly implement Xi Jinping’s economic thought, orienting efforts toward capacity reduction, supply-chain extension, and quality enhancement, seizing opportunities, accelerating transformation, and driving high-quality development in the aluminum industry.
To promote the high-quality development of aluminum processing in Henan Province, the Henan Nonferrous Metals Association organized personnel to conduct comprehensive, multi‑level, and multifaceted research, resulting in the “Research Report on the High‑Quality Development of Aluminum Processing in Henan” (draft for public comment).
Experts attending the conference engaged in lively discussions from diverse perspectives and at various levels, covering areas such as industrial innovation, supply-chain optimization, transformation of business models, talent development and recruitment, and brand-building. The meeting concluded that, in the new era and under evolving circumstances—amid mounting environmental pressures and the gradual depletion of raw-material resources—the aluminum‑processing sector in Henan should proactively plan ahead and accelerate its transition. With concerted efforts from government, enterprises, and industry associations, Henan’s aluminum‑processing industry is poised to chart a development path tailored to its unique needs and achieve high‑quality, sustainable growth.
