The groundbreaking ceremony was held for Yunnan Shenhuo’s 900,000-ton green hydropower‑aluminum integrated project.

On the morning of July 21, a grand groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Funing Industrial Park for Yunnan Shenhuo’s 900,000-ton green hydropower‑aluminum integrated project. Attending the event were Tong Zhiyun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wenshan Prefecture in Yunnan Province; Zhang Xiulan, Deputy Secretary of the Prefecture Party Committee and Governor; Ni Yumin, Vice Mayor of Shangqiu City; Shenhuo Group executives Li Wei, Zhang Wei, and Wang Hongtao; as well as Wang Deyao, Deputy Director of the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission; Zhang Chunhong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Energy Administration; Zhang Hong, Chief Engineer of the Provincial Power Grid Company; Zhang Jie, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Wenshan Prefecture; He Yong, Executive Vice Governor; Li Chunlin, Vice Governor; Chen Jiaxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Funing County; and Lu Yong, County Governor, among other leaders.
The Yunnan Funing Green Hydropower–Aluminum Integrated Project is a key component of Yunnan Province’s efforts to build its “green energy” brand, with Henan Shenhuo Group Co., Ltd. as the investor. On April 1 this year, Henan Shenhuo Group Co., Ltd. signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Wenshan Prefecture Government. Under the agreement, Funing County will undertake the “four connections and one leveling” infrastructure development for the industrial park, while Yunnan Shenhuo Aluminum Co., Ltd., newly established by Henan Shenhuo Group, will be responsible for constructing the 900,000‑ton green hydropower–aluminum integrated project. The project is designed to produce 900,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum annually, utilizing advanced SY500 electrolytic cell technology, with a total estimated investment of RMB 6.75 billion. The plant site covers approximately 1,380 mu and will be developed in two phases, with the first phase having an annual capacity of 451,100 tons.
