The China Nonferrous Metals Processing Association has released the 2021 output figures for China’s aluminum processed products.

Recently, the China Nonferrous Metals Processing Industry Association, in collaboration with Beijing Antaike Information Co., Ltd., announced that, in order to eliminate double-counting in aluminum‑product output statistics, bring production figures closer to reality, and broaden the scope of product coverage to better serve the industry, it has, based on data from the National Bureau of Statistics and the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and on surveys of key enterprises, compiled the total 2021 output of aluminum‑processed products as well as the output for each sub‑category. The findings are hereby reported as follows: In 2021, China’s total output of aluminum‑processed products reached 44.70 million tonnes, up 6.2% year on year; excluding raw aluminum foil, the output of aluminum‑processed products stood at 39.53 million tonnes, an increase of 5.8% over the previous year. (The National Bureau of Statistics had previously reported China’s 2021 aluminum‑processed‑products output at 61.05 million tonnes.)
The breakdown by product category is as follows: aluminum sheet and strip, 13.35 million tonnes; aluminum foil, 4.55 million tonnes; aluminum extrusions, 22.02 million tonnes; aluminum wire, 4.40 million tonnes; aluminum powder, 160,000 tonnes; and aluminum forgings and other products, 220,000 tonnes.
Among aluminum extrusions, industrial aluminum profiles account for 6.79 million tons, architectural aluminum profiles for 13.80 million tons, aluminum tubes for 880,000 tons, and aluminum bars and other products for 550,000 tons.
